You can get entries shrink wrapped at Kinko’s, Office Depot or Office Max. Office Max is best for projects over 11”x14”.
Be sure to look closely to at your entry form. Each category has a specific area for you to fill out
Artists statements used to be optional, they are now required. Be sure to include your artist’s statement
Please make sure your literature entry has all of the following
- Your literature entry must be based on the theme “Beauty is…”
- Your literature piece must not exceed 2000 words
- Only print your entry on one side of the paper
- Your entry should be no larger than 8.5”x11”
- Please include three total copies of your entry
- Write your name in PENCIL on the back of each sheet
- Entries with more than one page should be numbered
- Place all copies in a manila folder
- You should have a completed official entry form
- Artists statements are now required
- If you chose not to title your entry, write “untitled” on the entry form
- Have your entry form STAPLED to the back of the manila folder
Please make sure your visual arts entry has all of the following
- Your visual arts entry must be based on the theme “Beauty is…”
- Mount your entry on either a photo mat or on foam core board no thicker than 3/8”
- Your entry should be no larger than 24”x30” including any mat
- Your entry should not be 3-D
- Your entry should not extend beyond the edge of your entry
- Your entry should be shrink wrapped
- You should have a completed official entry form
- Artists statements are now required
- If you chose not to title your entry, write “untitled” on the entry form
- Place your entry form in a page protector
- Attach your entry form (in page protector) to the back of your entry by MASKING TAPE only
- Be sure your entry form is ON TOP of your shrink wrapped entry
Please make sure your photography entry has all of the following
- Your photograph must be based on the theme “Beauty is…”
- Mount your entry on either a photo mat or on foam core board no thicker than 3/8”
- Your entry should be no larger than 11”x14” including any mat
- Your entry should be shrink wrapped
- You should have a completed official entry form
- Artists statements are now required
- If you chose not to title your entry, write “untitled” on the entry form
- Place your entry form in a page protector
- Attach your entry form (in page protector) to the back of your entry by MASKING TAPE only
- Be sure your entry form is ON TOP of your shrink wrapped entry
Musical Composition entries should
Please make sure your musical composition entry has all of the following
- Your composition must be based on the theme “Beauty is…”
- Your composition must not exceed 5 minutes
- Your composition must be recorded on two CD’s
- YOU do not have to perform your composition
- You must include the notation of your composition. It can be traditional, tablature or electronic
- Write your name in PENCIL on the back of each sheet of your notation
- Your recorded CD’s needs to be placed in either a plastic (jewel case) or cardboard container
- Label both your CD’s and its container with: Your name, grade division (Senior), state year
ie. Heath Highlander, Senior Division, California, 2009
- Place both CD’s and your notation in a large envelope
- You should have a completed official entry form
- Artists statements are now required
- If you chose not to title your entry, write “untitled” on the entry form
- Place your entry form in a page protector
- Attach the page protector to the envelope with MASKING TAPE only
Film Production entries should
Please make sure your film production entry has all of the following
- Your film production must be based on the theme “Beauty is…”
- Your film production must not exceed 5 minutes
- Your film production must be recorded on two CD’s or DVD’s
- Record your production in one of these formats ONLY… MPEG, Quick Time Video or .WMV Windows Media Video
- The recording should be saved as a file NOT as a CD/DVD movie
- YOU do not have to appear in your film production
- Your recorded CD’s/DVD’s needs to be placed in either a plastic (jewel case) or cardboard container
- Label both your CD’s/DVD’s and its container with: Your name, grade division (Senior), state year
ie. Heath Highlander, Senior Division, California, 2009
- Place both CD’s/DVD’s in a large envelope
- You should have a completed official entry form
- Artists statements are now required
- If you chose not to title your entry, write “untitled” on the entry form
- Place your entry form in a page protector

Dance Choreography entries should
Please make sure your dance choreography entry has all of the following
- Your choreography must be based on the theme “Beauty is…”
- Your choreography must not exceed 3 minutes
- A performance of your choreography must be recorded on two CD’s or DVD’s
- Record your performance in one of these formats ONLY… MPEG, Quick Time Video or .WMV Windows Media Video
- The recording should be saved as a file NOT as a CD/DVD movie
- YOU do not have to perform your dance
- State your artist statement at the beginning of the recording
- Your recorded CD’s/DVD’s needs to be placed in either a plastic (jewel case) or cardboard container
- Label both your CD’s/DVD’s and its container with: Your name, grade division (Senior), state year
ie. Heath Highlander, Senior Division, California, 2009
- Place both CD’s/VD’s and your notation in a large envelope
- You should have a completed official entry form
- Artists statements are now required
- If you chose not to title your entry, write “untitled” on the entry form
- Place your entry form in a page protector
- Attach the page protector to the envelope with MASKING TAPE only
