Homage to Cy Twombly/Mark Toby
During the 1950's, abstract expressionism became the vangard in American painting. Many of these new works used the "elements and principles of art" as a foundatoin for their explorations into this new realm of art making.
Here, students have underpainted using water color and then employed line motifs to create a dynamic picture plane of movement, pattern and harmonic convergences of line interactions.
We hope you like this exhibition and the celebration of artists Twombly and Toby for their ground breaking works that helped us appreciate and study this movement in American Painting and drawing.

The Paris Project
Each year, we have created a body of work for the American School of Paris that we send to exhibit at their School of Art. The work is based around the self-portrait. From this exploration the students study Art elements such as point to point reference drawing and color value useage.
Mr. Frank Vescio our contact at the American school is from Mr. Nyberg's home town in Canada, Thunder Bay. Mr Vescio kindly has sponsered our travelling exhibit for the last several years and we look forward to our continued collaboration with the American School of Paris.
We hope you enjoy the work!
